Digital solutions that bridge the gap

POOLESVILLE, MD., October 1, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Montgomery County, while boasting 4 of the 10 most diverse cities in the country, is also deeply divided by significant inequalities in access to resources – especially when it comes to digital literacy, access to equipment and the arts as personal tools and community development. Digital solutions that bridge the gap, launched in October 2021, will provide monthly Tech-Savvy Soundbytes, a Digital Fundamentals course and access to an equipment loan library to help course participants develop their digital wallets. The programs are aimed at community members aged 16 and over who are experiencing economic hardship and wish to expand their income potential and / or create deeper community bonds through digital literacy.

Digital solutions that bridge the gap are made possible by funding from Comcast NBCUniversal and OmniSystems and could not exist without their contributions. Story Tapestries is also funded by the Maryland State Arts Council, the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County, and the Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation (

Tech Savvy Soundbytes are free 30 minute online sessions featuring guest speakers who will share the impact of technology on their professional lives, helped them find work / education opportunities, or supported their ability to become an entrepreneur.
