During two sunny days, Summer in everyday life and Max Mara have come together to celebrate the major milestone of the Italian label. Well-heeled fans flocked to the avant-garde East Hampton home of The Colony Palm Beach CEO Sarah Wetenhall to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Fall 2021 collection and further immerse themselves in the brand’s heritage. world famous.

On the first day of the celebrations, guests attended an intimate alfresco lunch featuring seasonal Italian-themed dishes and followed by a selection of artisanal Italian ice cream, served in the instantly recognizable scallop cart from The Colony, which had been shipped to the Hamptons in Palm Beach especially for the day.

Event co-hosts Ashley Wu, founder of Maison, and Cori Lee Seaberg, co-founder of Out East, mingled and mingled with notable Hamptonites and taste makers including Carolyn Angel, Sai de Silva, Janelle Lloyd, Jessica Wang and Tinamarie Clark, while sipping Champagne and Out East rosé and shopping for Max Mara’s Fall / Winter 21 collection.

The second day offered VIP guests the chance to sip, shop and enjoy a poolside conversation involving Casey Fremont of the Art Production Fund, style expert Sai de Silva, Sarah Wetenhall and Ashley Wu ; hosted by Lizzi Bickford Meadow. The panelists shared their take on female entrepreneurship, innovation, personal style and their opinions on why Max Mara remains a timeless staple and a dominant jewel in the crown of the fashion industry, after seven decades in the game.

Founded by Achille Maramotti in 1951, Max Mara gained worldwide fame for its sophisticated and elegant designs, and in part thanks to the popularity of its iconic outerwear. The new seasonal offering incorporates the above, in styles such as a plush coat, plush bomber jacket and camel hair coats. The brand, long run by creative director Ian Griffiths, has also launched seven t-shirts to commemorate 70 years of fashion. The t-shirts feature images seen throughout the brand’s history, including William Wegman’s Weimarander dogs wearing Max Mara’s famous 101081 coats, and the graphic prints seen on the FW ’21 runway show in Milan, inspired by the work of Erberto Carboni.
