Tulu Koota Kuwait organizes a sports meeting

Kuwait City, May 12: Tulu Koota Kuwait (TKK) hosted the indoor sports meet at American International School-Maidan Hawally under the leadership of dynamic President Sanath Kumar Shetty and coordinated by Sports Secretary Lionel Mascarenhas on Friday 6th May. Kabaddi for men and throwball for ladies took place during the sporting event.

Fellow of the occasion, Dr. Preethi Shetty welcomed the audience and the main guests of the event Nora Al-Suwaiti, Huzefa Abbasi Sadanpurwala from Al Mulla Exchange-Kuwait and Preema Pereira from Badr Al Sama Medical Center.

The program began with a grand procession and unveiling ceremony of the TKK logo, traditional Tulunadu materials, champion banners and trophies. This was followed by the national anthems of Kuwait and India.

The program began with the lighting of the lamp by the president accompanied by the main guests, councilors and the management committee. In his welcome speech, Sanath Kumar Shetty underlined the importance of this sports meeting after two long years of the corona pandemic. While praising the efforts and dedication of the management and all the committees that have worked tirelessly behind the scenes, he appealed for continued support and active participation. He honored Sports Secretary Lionel Mascarenhas with a traditional shawl. The Sports Secretary then performed the ritual of cracking the coconut to give the event a head start.

In her speech, the main guest Nora Al-Suwaiti expressed her point of view and mentioned that she was delighted to address the Indian community in Kuwait. She also mentioned the importance for Indians to be an integral part of the Kuwaiti community. While thanking the organizers, she encouraged all the athletes by explaining to them the importance of sport in our daily lives.

Huzefa Abbasi Sadanpurwala – Marketing Director of Al Mulla exchange delivered his inaugural speech on PR Communications. While congratulating TKK for organizing this sporting event, he commended the long-standing relationship between Al Mulla Exchange and Tulu Koota Kuwait.

The magnificent concept of the inaugural ceremony was spearheaded by talented committee member Suresh Salian which was well coordinated by Jagadeeshwar Shanubhogue, Dr. Preethi Shetty, Vanitha Vinod Kumar and Shoba Harish Bhandary.

The whole event was well organized and coordinated by the young and dynamic Sports Secretary Lionel Mascarenhas.

After the inauguration ceremony, all teams actively participated in their respective games and kept all spectators engaged and entertained. The winners of the competitions received trophies and medals. The best player was awarded for his outstanding performance in each game. The special ‘Emerging Team’ prize was awarded as a consolation prize to the fourth winner.

TVS Hyder Group’s Firoz and Arif presided as chief guests for the event’s award ceremony.

Committee Member Sushma Manoj Bangera, Cultural Secretary Manoj Shetty and Advisor Ramesh Bhandary cheered on the players with game flow and score announcements.

A special first aid counter and doctors were organized by Badr Al Sama Medical Center.

Both Games were officiated by referees Ravi Kumar, Lakshmi Devi, Shyam, Ramesh Kumar and TKK advisor Wilson D’souza.

The event was streamed live on YouTube Live by Rishwan and Marwan’s team. The photography of the event was taken by Prashanth Ferrao. The sound system was managed by Anand D’Souza. A delicious lunch and refreshments for the event were served by Sangeetha Restaurant Kuwait.

Tulu Koota Kuwait takes this opportunity to thank its committee members, members and volunteers for their dedicated efforts, team spirit and active participation which ultimately led to the huge success of Sports Event.
