MCAST ICA Festival 2022
MCAST’s Institute of Creative Arts has transformed its annual expo into an arts festival, with the goal of reaching out to the community. The festival celebrates creativity and acts as a platform to showcase the hard work of students and their collaboration with relative industry stakeholders.
The event, which runs until July 31 at Spazju Kreattiv in Valletta, includes an art exhibition, interactive media and an art networking event of gaming, photography and graphic design.

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
The Manoel Theater presents its first in-house musical theater production of the highly acclaimed dark musical.
With music and lyrics by Stephan Sondheim and a book by Hugh Wheeler, the musical stars Roger Tirazona in the title role. The cast also includes Kateriana Fenech, Ryan Grech, Jasmine Farrugia, Stephen Oliver and Noel Zarb.
The production is directed by Lucienne Camilleri, while Ryan Abela is the musical director.

The Merry Women of Windsor (Terrace)
MADC’s summer production of Shakespeare at San Anton Gardens is back with its favorite take on comedy The Merry Women of Windsor. Directed by Chris Gatt, the play stars Edward Thorpe as Falstaff and Antonella Axisa and Kim Dalli as the Merry Wives.

Malta International Food Festival
The five-day celebration of local and international culinary traditions comes to an end today.
The event, which kicks off at 6 p.m. near the Triton Fountain in Valletta, features live cooking shows, exhibitors selling produce, a chill-out area, beer garden and kids’ area.
Geo Debono, Sterjotipi and The Crowns will perform live tonight.
The festival will be followed in a few weeks by a small edition in Gozo. The free street food festival in the parish square of Xewkija will emphasize diversity, with more than seven foreign cuisines, live performances and other entertainment.

Hope Logos in Grand Port
Hope Logos, the world’s largest floating book fair, is currently moored in Grand Harbour. It offers over 5,000 books covering a wide range of topics including science, sports, hobbies, cooking, arts, medicine, languages and faith.
The ship is open to the public at the Valletta cruise port as follows: Tuesday to Friday and Sunday: 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.; Saturday: 10am-1pm, 3pm-10pm. It is closed on Mondays.
Admission for 13-64 year olds is €1 per person, while adults aged 65 and over are free. Children under 12 enter free but must be accompanied by an adult.
20th edition of Oħloq Jbissima marathon
The directory Oħloq Tbissima The fundraising marathon organized by the CAM/CPi celebrates its 20th anniversary this weekend.
Funds raised over the years for Maltese missionaries in Peru, Pakistan and the Philippines have helped build schools where poor locals can get an education, clinics where they can get treatment, kitchens where they can have a meal or two a day, centers where to meet and train, and financial assistance to buy their needs, among others.
The marathon is broadcast all weekend on the main local television channels. Anyone wishing to make a donation can do so by calling the following telephone numbers: 5100 2031 for a donation of €20 or 5190 2080 for a donation of €50.

10-year investigative exhibition by Marinella Senatore at Blitz in Valletta brings together paintings, drawings, videos, powerful project with Russian protest group Pussy Riot showcasing new site-specific organic sculpture and artwork public art on the historic facade of the Casino de La Valette Maltais.
The exhibition ended with the public performance The School of Narrative Dance on June 30, which brought together more than 100 participants from local groups and communities, and a dance movement in Republic Street, Valletta, in memory of the murdered journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia.

Humanity at War: Reflections
A photographic exhibition capturing the human side of war by photojournalists Darrin Zammit Lupi and Heidi Levine is underway at the Malta Enterprise offices in Pietà.
Curated by Pamela Baldacchino, it features photos from conflicts in Ukraine, Gaza, Israel, Libya and Bosnia.
The funds raised will go to Ukrainian refugees in Malta and to the construction of the ‘Becs’ junior secondary school in Ethiopia, in memory of Rebecca Zammit Lupi, 15, who died in 2021 of a rare form of cancer.
The exhibition runs until July 23. It is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
